After the recommended soaking in water to avoid burning on the grill, I found these to be sturdy and not splintery. Great product!

(More customer reviews)I was happy to find one of these still available.It was a discontinued accessory by the grill manufacturer.Works great!Haven't used it for chicken or ribs yet, but I'm sure it will perform fine.I use it for fire-roasted vegetables.Even when your're cooking in the kitchen, it makes a great "second-stove" without using the oven in the summer in an already hot kitchen.The bars of the basket are about a half inch apart, so vegetables need to be cut in large chunks.You can use whole garlic cloves and get away with it.My favorite is red and green sweet bell peppers, sweet onion, carrot and small baby potatoes in olive oil, liberally seasoned with coarse salt and fresh fround pepper.If you own a rotisserie, you need one of these. They are inexpensive and easy to clean.
